4242: WW-2 Japanese Flag

This is a well used Japanese flag from WW-2. It was truly flown by the Japanese military, believed to have been flown in the Philippines. It is multi-piece construction, the red is a different piece of cloth sewn in place. Different then the German multi-piece flags, this flag had the center cut away and the red sewn in. The material is the same as the material used in for the German battle flags. Measures 47" wide and in the range of 6' long.

The hat is included with the flag. They were sent home and kept by the same person. The hat has moth damage and was stored in a compressed position. The star is missing from the front, but still a neat piece of history.
